Did you want to grow up to be a soulless, duplicitous Asshat? Yeah me neither. Unfortunately, many of us become just that when we become a boss. We think that our devotion to our company at the expense of doing what is right will be rewarded. Well guess what, it won't. No matter how many hours you work, no matter how many people you screw over, no matter how many events you miss you will never get that time back. You will never get the same loyalty back. Our workplace has become a giant tissue box and you are nothing more than another tissue when you don't serve the purpose of the soulless, duplicitous Asshat that is YOUR boss. This doesn't mean you shouldn't do your job well, you should. Just remember that if something doesn't feel right, it's not. When you get to Heaven (hopefully) does God ask if you were a good person or a good boss. The two are rarely the same.
